SEL4NJ is now accepting applications for this grant opportunity which is open to any New Jersey teacher or team of teachers from the same school or district for professional study leading to the integration of social, emotional, and character development in their classroom, school, or district. This award will include funding for specific professional development training as well as participation in a professional development network of grantees. Applications will close on December 10, 2021 and awards will be announced in mid-January.
NJEA is contributing $180,000 to support the Sustainable Jersey Grants Program for public schools and school districts. Funding supports efforts to implement projects that help schools and school districts gain points needed for Sustainable Jersey for Schools certification and make progress toward a sustainable future.
Application Deadline: Friday, December 3, 2021 at 11:59 p.m.
The New Jersey State Department of Education has provided a a guide for schools which helps to decipher how the school/district can use the federal funding that is part of the ESSA Act. Six initiatives are identified as examples of how these funds can be used. One of the examples is “Supporting a Positive School Climate.”
