Join us in celebrating the 3rd annual International SEL Day on March 11, 2022!

Sign up today with the following link SEL Day Sign-up to showcase, promote, advocate for and support SEL (broadly defined) in your school and community. All you need to do is create an artifact and send it out on social media with the hashtag (#SELday) on March 11th.  The goal is to have #SELday trending worldwide!

If you create an artifact (which many NJ schools did last year for SEL Day!) it would be wonderful if you could send a copy of your artifact(video, photos, blogs, podcasts, etc..) with the theme of your artifact included in the subject line to SEL4NJ. Ideally one or two words…for example Kindness, Connection, Staff Morale, Student Voice, Respect. We of course will be sure to tweet and share the artifact on SEL Day.

The SELday website toolkit page has all sorts of helpful information and material including logos / hashtags / press releases etc..

We are so excited to showcase and highlight the amazing SEL (broadly defined) work taking place in schools throughout New Jersey!

In this time of “social distancing” to prevent the spread of coronavirus, parents, teachers, school leaders and students can promote SEL Day through social media postings, online contests and activities, and articles and pictures of past events in traditional and online media.

Location: Online

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy has proclaimed Friday, March 27, as SEL Day in New Jersey, marking the first statewide celebration of social emotional learning (SEL).  Though the coronavirus epidemic means that the day cannot be celebrated as planned with mass gatherings, school assemblies or library displays, it is still important to recognize the vital role that SEL plays in our schools and communities.

In this time of “social distancing” to prevent the spread of coronavirus, parents, teachers, school leaders and students can promote SEL Day through social media postings, online contests and activities, and articles and pictures of past events in traditional and online media.

At this meeting, we will hear updates on the national and state level, hear about funding opportunities from the New York Jets, review progress made in the past year, consider the structure of SEL4NJ, and create four new working groups to help with the business of the organization.
